Do you really believe you have manifested the world that you inhabit?

It is fashionable nowadays to talk about manifesting our reality and attracting people and circumstances to our lives. But how many of us truly believe that? or understand the fundamental mechanics of the process?
I talked about this idea of manifesting our reality to my dear cousin a few weeks back and he retorted strongly....are you saying that I manifested the recent collapse in the stock market?? Why would I invest all that money and collapse the market myself?? he lamented....
Rightly so, if he was indeed manifesting his reality why would he manifest such a crazy universe for himself?! Does not make sense.....till you drill deeper....
Yes, that is indeed our experience of reality. There is an objective reality outside of ourselves which seems to exist and function independent of us, and as a result, we are faced to deal with many unexpected circumstances, like an unforeseen stock market crash. So then, is this philosophy of manifesting your reality and attracting people and circumstances in your life incorrect?
Lets look deeper. We are composed of our conscious self, i.e., the part of the self which is conscious and aware of the different thoughts, feelings, objects and events. Then there is our unconscious self, i.e., a number of thoughts, feelings and desires invisible to our conscious mind. Also there is all the conditioning which making our body run the way it is, for example, our heart beats at a particular rate per min and all our organs function without any conscious intervention from our sides. All these unconscious recordings are many times more than all the conscious recordings we experience. Like Freud had shown that the unconscious mind is like part of the glacier underwater. Less than 1% of all the conditioning and thoughts that drive us are conscious and if we try to ascertain basis the conscious part why certain realities are getting manifested we are missing 99% of the story....
So, where does that leave us in trying to ascertain if my cousin indeed caused the stock market crash? Did he unconsciously bring about that unfortunate situation? and if yes, could he have chosen to do otherwise? Are other people in the world also not responsible for what occurred? Is this the result of some mass psychosis? If yes, how can my cousin be responsible for the reality getting manifested?
These are interesting questions which require a much deeper delve into the nature of our unconscious mind. What is all this memory which we call the unconscious mind and how did it get created and accumulated? Is it individual to us or it Universal in character? For example, the rules that govern the beating of heart, are they individual to me? They are common to the whole species. the memory in my cells have commonalties with the first cells on earth. At the unconscious level of thoughts and feelings could we be linked to each other? If this is so, then it would mean that between our conscious and unconscious minds we could be manifesting all that we are experiencing, but just not be aware about the same.
If this is indeed the true state of affairs, then could my cousin have manifested a different reality other than the stock market crash? Well I will continue on this thought in my next post.....
